Hold the Negative 
There is nothing that feels better than getting in shape after the Holidays. The best way to do that is to make a commitment to do a figure, fitness, bikini or bodybuilding competition. There is something about getting on stage and turning around in a two piece suit that keeps you focused on your training and what you are eating.
All these women went above and beyond to be the best they can be and actually make it to the stage. I am so proud of all my clients and I truly enjoyed working with every single one of them.
Good luck to the many competitors that are competing in state and out of state this spring and summer. Keep your thoughts and spirits positive - hold the negative. |

KATERINA SCHLOAD

Congratulations to Katerina Schload for her success at the Arnold Amateur Women's NPC Bikini Championships competition held March 4, 2010. There were 89 athletes competing. This was Katerina's first competition out of state and she was a rock star just like she always is. Katerina has such a beautiful quality about her that shines wherever she goes and always makes people around her feel like a million bucks. She is truly as thoughtful and giving as they come. I enjoyed helping her prepare for this competition. You will see a lot of Katerina in upcoming competitions around the country as she has many plans to compete in other federations. Katerina is a fireball and will be competing already this weekend in Fit Bodies at the Bodybuilding .com expo in Boise, ID. I wish her all the best as she rocks the stage again. Watch for upcoming newsletters showing her progress and success throughout her career. |

Dear Athlete,
The 2010 NPC Topform Classic Bodybuilding, Figure & Bikini Championships brought some very fit physiques to the stage. It's always enjoyable to watch everything come together on one special day. There were many new faces at the show and there were some overall winners from the past coming back to re-quality for nationals. Heather Dees came back and regained her title as overall figure winner. Scott Farmer came back and regained his title as overall Heavyweight winner. We now will have the pleasure of Scott Farmer as the guest poser at the 2010 NPC Natural Bodybuilding, Figure & Bikini Championships this weekend May 8th at Cottonwood High School, UT. Congratulations to Heather and Scott and to my clients below that also showed their best package on stage. |

NPC Topform Bikini Competitor Finals
The bikini division has been a nice addition to the NPC circuit and now NGA is offering a bikini division. So there are plenty of opportunities for the someone to compete and keep a softer look. Tierney Flicker and Melissa Larsen are two stunning women I have had the pleasure to work with at the NPC Utah Topform Classic. Congratulations to both these inspiring women!

NGA Mr & Ms Utah Natural & NGA Grand Teton
This year the NGA Mr & Mrs Utah Natural was held at the Egyptian Theater in Ogden. This was such a beautiful place to hold the competition and made the show a special experience. I would like to congratulate my clients Heather Talbot and Lindy Hicks. Heather beauty and stage presence awarded her first place in her class and overall winner in Figure. She presented her physique with quality and beauty. Lindy Hicks came all the way from Rock Springs, ID to pose with me and all her hard work paid off as Lindy place 2nd in the medium class. Her confidence and beauty was exceptional on stage. Heather went on to compete in the 2010 NGA Grand Teton Classic winning 1st in Figure Short and taking the Overall trophy. Heather also received her Pro card at this show. Congratulations to both Heather and Lindy!

Teton Classic
Cassy Freeman from Rexburg, ID competed at the NGA Grand Teton taking home a 2nd place trophy in the Figure Novice Tall division. Cassy also competed in the NGA Northwest Natural placing 6th in the 5'4"-5'6" division. These were Cassy's first shows and she is ready to take what she learned to her next competition. Cassy was so dedicated and focused. It was such a pleasure to work with her. Watch out for this beautiful Diva in upcoming shows.
Jill Nix has been in the circuit since 2009 placing well at each show. This was her pro debut and she did great considering a injury she had 3 weeks earlier. She took home a 4th place trophy in the Pro Masters Division. Congratulations to both Jill and Cassy for their hard work and dedication to the sport they love.

2010 Emerald Cup Success

I can't express enough how excited I am to have finally competed again after 6 years. I decided to compete in the Emerald Cup because that was the show I wanted to compete in 2005 but never made it. I truly enjoyed this journey of learning and experiencing some new concepts with training and nutrition.
I was so excited for the show and felt ready to hit the stage again, but as my division Master's over 40 was approaching my heart was pumping faster than doing cardio at a intense speed! I tried to breathe deep to slow my heartbeat and as I entered the stage I was a little shaky but did the best I could. It was a good thing I did a lot of practicing because if I didn't I would have really fell apart. I was so relieved and excited when I made the first call outs.
I felt so much more relaxed for the evening show and really enjoyed walking the stage. After we all did our walk and comparisons we filed off stage to learn who was top five. As we waited I was praying they would call my number and after calling the first three numbers they called mine and I almost starting crying with excitement. I and the other 4 girls walked back on stage for trophy awards. They announced the placing for 5th place, it wasn't me, then 4th place they called my name, I was so excited! They brought my trophy and a tiara which all the top 5 girls received. I got my first tiara at 48 years old and I can't express how great it made me feel. It may sound silly but I think I might sleep with it on my head for the next three months.
